Fuel – Mark Up

County employees will use County fuel sites whenever possible in lieu of the Voyager card as County fuel sites are less expensive resulting in cost savings for all.

Voyager Card

Voyager cards are used when taking a County vehicle out of town or when a County fuel site can’t be accessed. These cards are assigned to individual departments. Check with your supervisor if you require need of this service.

  • As part of a Voyager card transaction, you will be asked to enter an ID number. This id number is the vehicle number from the brass tag on the key ring or sticker on the rear bumper. Additionally, entering the correct vehicle mileage is essential for the transaction to authorize.
  • Voyager cards are to be used only for the purchase of oil, diesel fuel, and regular fuel at self-service pumps and never for premium fuel unless vehicle/equipment specifically calls for it. Full service charges are prohibited.
  • Voyager cards may not be used for the purchase of car washes, unless the vehicle is (i) unmarked law enforcement, (ii) stationed in the East Valley or other remote location away from County wash facilities at the Government Center or Saticoy, (iii) other limited circumstances that have received prior authorization from the Fleet Manager.
  • Charges other than oil, fuel, authorized washes, and emergency repairs are prohibited. Examples include: food, sundries, and personal items. Departments should collect and reconcile receipts in order to identify improper charges and pursue recovery.
