About

The Ventura County Consolidated Oversight Board (VCCOB) is established pursuant to the State of California, Health and Safety Code Section 34179 (j), and as of July 1, 2018 in each county where more than one redevelopment successor agency oversight board was created, there shall be only one Consolidated Oversight Board. The VCCOB is charged with overseeing the activities of the eleven successor agencies throughout the County, as agencies discharge their obligations, dispose of assets, and wind down redevelopment activities.

Regular meetings will be scheduled on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m., commencing July 2018.

The VCCOB is an appointed body comprised of seven (7) members, as follows:

  • Two (2) members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors; and
  • One (1) appointment each by the:
    • City Selection Committee;
    • Independent Special District Selection Committee;
    • County Superintendent of Education;
    • Chancellor of the Ventura County Community College District; and
    • The recognized employee organization representing the largest number of successor agency employees in the County.

IN RESPONSE TO THE DECLARED STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCIES DUE TO THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S RECENT ORDER TO LIMIT INDOOR OPERATIONS AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE TO HELP SLOW THE SPREAD OF COVID-19, THE HALL OF ADMINISTRATION IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Public Comments – Public comment is the opportunity for members of the public to participate in meetings by addressing the Board in connection with one or more agenda or non-agenda items. Public comments may be provided using one of the following options:

If you wish to make a comment on a specific agenda item by email or mail, please submit your comment via email by 3:30 p.m. on the day prior to the Board meeting. Please submit your comment to the Clerk of the Board at clerkoftheboard@ventura.org or mail to:

If you are watching the live stream of the Board meeting and would like to make either a general public comment (Agenda Item 9) for items not on the day’s agenda or to comment on a specific agenda item as it is being heard, please submit your comment, limited to 250 words or less, to the Clerk of the Board at clerkoftheboard@ventura.org. Please include in the Subject Line of your email both the Agenda item number (e.g., Item No. 9) and the words “Read at Meeting”. At the discretion of the chair, if time allows, your comment may be read into the record. All comments received prior to the end of the meeting will be made part of the record.
