Supervisor Long has been championing the expansion of the Tattoo Removal Program since the clinics were closed in 2020 due to COVID. Both machines at the old programs in Santa Paula and Oxnard were no longer functioning or usable.

At the July 26, 2022 meeting the Board of Supervisors (BOS) moved unanimously “Approve the Resurrection and Expansion of a Tattoo Removal Program”.  Since that time, new machines have been purchased for detention facilities at the Todd Road Jail and Juvenile Facilities.

The focus of the program is for Ventura County residents for the removal of tattoos that are gang, human trafficking, job seeking related or those that have a negative effect on a person’s well-being. The service is provided free of charge and by appointment only. Priority is given to referrals from our partnering agencies (Probation, District Attorney, Public Defender, HSA, etc.) There are currently two locations.

The Simi Valley location has clinics twice a month on Thursday usually between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. You can contact them directly for more information and to make an appointment.

Clinics are scheduled once a month on Friday afternoons 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and Saturday mornings 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Below are the current dates, but they are filling fast. You will need to arrive 1 hour before your appointment.
