Tattoo Removal Clinic Program

Supervisor Long has been championing the expansion of the Tattoo Removal Program since the clinics were closed in 2020 due to COVID. Both machines at the old programs in Santa Paula and Oxnard were no longer functioning or usable.

At the July 26, 2022 meeting the Board of Supervisors (BOS) moved unanimously “Approve the Resurrection and Expansion of a Tattoo Removal Program”.  Since that time, new machines have been purchased for detention facilities at the Todd Road Jail and Juvenile Facilities. Another machine was purchased and is at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley. A fourth machine is anticipated to be purchased for a facility in Oxnard.

Services are by appointment only, providing tattoo removal free of charge with a focus on the face, neck, and hands that are gang or human trafficking related and to help seek employment. There is a priority list of agency referrals, such as Probation, Public Defender’s Office GEO Reentry, etc.

The Simi Valley location usually has clinics twice a month on Thursday mornings. If you would like to make an appointment or need additional information, please e-mail: TattooRemoval@ventura.org or call our office at (805) 654-2276 and ask for Nancy Phillips.
