Mail Your Payment

Reminders Before Mailing

Before sending your payment, we recommend reviewing our FAQ’s section “What are accepted postmarks?” Mail early to avoid possible late penalties.

When preparing to send your payment, remember to:

– Make your check or money order payable to VC Tax Collector
– Write the Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) on the memo line of the check
– Enclose your payment coupon, seal the properly addressed envelope and use required postage
– Do not attach staples, paper clips or tape
– Do not enclose cash

All checks are required to be in US Funds ONLY. Any payments that are converted due to foreign currency will be subject to a $50 returned payment fee per statement paid.

Do not postdate your check. All of our processors do not read or honor the check date. Any returned payment due to post or stale dated check will be subject to a $50 returned payment fee per statement paid.

Lockbox Payment Processor

Ventura County Tax Collector contracts with the County’s bank to process tax payments on our behalf. The processor is called Lockbox through Wells Fargo Bank. The PO Box is a main hub where the payment processor has direct access. Payments are processed the same day as received. The paper checks are electronically deposited in a secure environment and may be withdrawn from your account immediately.

Online Bill Pay

Online bill payment is a secure electronic service provided by your bank that allows customers to pay bills without having to write checks and mail them. Online bill payment usually is tied to a checking account from which funds are withdrawn electronically for payment of one-time or recurring bills.

Ventura County Tax Collector is NOT set up to receive these funds electronically. Therefore, the bill pay system prints and mails a paper check on the customer’s behalf. These payments must be sent by your bank before the penalty deadline date. Ensure you start this process early as this process is delayed and any payments received after the deadline will be considered late as bill pay processor envelopes do NOT have a postmark.

To use this method, add VC TAX COLLECTOR as a payee with the Assessor’s Parcel Number as the account number or check memo. These payments should be mailed to our payment processor at:.

Lockbox Address Unsec

Delinquent Prior Year Unsecured, Unsecured Supplemental, Redemption, Redemption Supplemental and all payment plans must be mailed to the Ventura County Tax Collector Main Office as they require special handling.
