COUNTY TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR ELECTED TO STATEWIDE ASSOCIATION ROLE

The California Association of County Treasurers and Tax Collectors (CACTTC) has elected Judge Steven Hintz, Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector, as the Area 5 director on its Executive Committee. The association promotes the general interests of the Treasurer-Tax Collectors in California’s 58 counties by providing continuing education, legislative support and through the promotion of technological advances. Area 5 includes 11 Southern California counties, including Ventura County.
Hintz was initially selected to fill the remainder of a term on the Executive Committee. Following his short-term appointment, he was elected as the Area 5 Director for the fiscal year 2019-2020. He previously served in the position in fiscal year 2015-2016.
“We are continually working to provide excellent customer service to our taxpayers,” said Hintz. “This position allows me to share our best practices with other counties and learn from them as well. This kind of collaborative association helps to ensure that all taxpayers in California know their tax dollars are handled professionally and securely.”

The Treasury Oversight Committee took a tour of the new “Investment Command Center” after the 1pm Treasury Oversight Committee Meeting on Wednesday, November 7th. Judge Steven Hintz and staff provided a demonstration of the Bloomberg investment software and answered questions.

Fixed Income Academy Awards Certified Fixed Income Practitioner (CFIP) Designation to Treasurer-Tax Collector Staff - October 30, 2018
Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector, Sue Horgan, and Treasury Accounting Technician, John Powers, earned the designation of Certified Fixed Income Practitioner (CFIP) from the Fixed Income Academy. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Academy, Susan Munson, presented the awards at the Board of Supervisors Meeting on October 30, 2018. The Fixed Income Academy’s Director of Development, Leslie Morales, was also in attendance to celebrate our staffs’ accomplishments.

2018 PUBLIC AUCTION CANCELLED
The 2018 Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector Public Auction for tax-defaulted property will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Ventura County Government Center, Administration Building, Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, 800 South Victoria Ave, Ventura, Ca 93009.
Registration begins on January 16, 2018 through February 9, 2018, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collectors Office, 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009.
A valid identification is required. Such identification include, driver’s license, military ID card, passport or California ID card.
