Resources for Job Seekers

America’s Job Centers provide a direct link to local resources that can help adults and youth find employment. At the centers, employment specialists help job seekers of all ages create an employment action plan, and access training and education information. Services available at the centers are free and include: use of computers, printers, fax machines, access to electronic job listings, and information on careers and high-demand occupations. America’s Job Centers are located in Oxnard and Simi Valley.  Additionally, the Human Services Agency’s Community Service Centers in Ventura, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Thousand Oaks and Moorpark offer access to online job search services


CalJOBS network is a free employment service offered online that allows users to tap into thousands of local job listings, obtain access to career resources, and find labor market information.

Workshops & Training

America’s Job Centers offer workshops  that provide support during employment searches. America’s Job Centers also provide access to helpful training programs at little or no cost, including:

  • English as a Second Language
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Certificate Programs, including GED
  • Short-term, Entry-level Courses
  • Degree Programs to transfer to a four-year college

The Workforce Development Board of Ventura County has a new online Ventura County Workforce Resource Guide. This guide shows all Workforce Development resources in Ventura County, including information on internships, training, apprenticeships, and career development. We want to assure that everyone in Ventura County and beyond can access existing work-based learning resources without having to do hours of research.
