About the Tri-County Regional Energy Network (3C-REN)

The 3C-REN is a partnership among three California Central Coast local government agencies working together to deliver regional energy efficiency programs that meet local needs and help reduce energy use, carbon emissions, and meet the goals of local climate action plans.

The 3C-REN is launching three energy efficiency programs and services in mid-2019 designed to address the needs and challenges of local government agencies, building professionals, and residents in our region:

  • Learning and Development Program directly benefits the residential and commercial construction industries (renovation and new construction) and our regional economy by providing access for our workforce to locally hosted learning and business development opportunities (e.g. technical, in-field, certifications, and more).
  • Codes and Standards Program is customized to offer resources and capacity for local government agencies and building professionals (e.g. code coach service, forms, modeling, and more) to increase knowledge of and compliance with an ever-changing energy code;
  • Residential Direct Install Program for Hard to Reach Customers assists residents to make free and low-cost improvements to their homes that save money, reduce energy use, and improve the health, safety, comfort, and durability of Central Coast homes, while helping reduce carbon emissions towards healthier and greener communities.

Disclaimer: The Tri-County Regional Energy Network is administered by the Counties of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo and funded by California utility ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
