The Ventura County Planning Division is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Public Information Counter provides services between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

When is the Planning Division open?

The Public Counter provides services between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer general planning question and process over-the-counter permits.  The Planning Public Counter is located at 800 S. Victoria Ave, Hall of Administration on the 3rd Floor.  For more information about the Public Counter, please click here.

Do I need to make an appointment to meet with Planning Staff?

If you want to meet with a specific planner to discuss a project, you are advised to make an appointment with him/her to ensure he/she will be available.  Click here to obtain phone numbers and email addresses for the Planning staff.  The clerical and Public Counter staff do not make appointments for members of the Planning staff. 

Do I need to make an appointment for a pre-submittal application review?

If you would like to meet with a Pre-submittal Planner to discuss a project, please make an appointment with the County's Discretionary Permit Coordinator, Winston Wright. Winston can be reached at (805) 654-2468 or Winston.Wright@ventura.org.
