Contact the Environmental Health Division Cross-Connection Control Program Specialist to schedule an appointment for a certified tester practical exam in the Cross-Connection Control Program Laboratory. The laboratory is located in the Service Building near the North-East Corner of the County of Ventura Government Center Complex at 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura CA. Enter the government center complex at the South Hill Street entrance nearest to Webster Street. Park in the lot south of the the fuel pumps/carwash. The laboratory entrance is located on the walk-way to the loading dock.
What should I bring to the Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester exam?
For a new certification or a re-certification bring:
► $205.00 check made out to the Environmental Health Division. Cash is also accepted.
► Your own equipment to completely test an R.P. Device, Pressure Vacuum Breaker and double check valve (i.e. gauge, etc.). Gauges must be calibrated annually.
► Proof of completion and passing of an approved cross-connection course.
For a Re-certification also bring:
► Your certified tester card with ID number. How long is the Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester Certification good for?
The certification is good for three years. A completely new certification must be obtained after three years. This requires the practical exam to be taken again and fees to be paid.
