The
Planning Division maintains
and implements the Ventura County General Plan
and Zoning Ordinance and prepares other specialized
planning documents, including a Local Coastal
Program.
It reviews development requests for conformance
with the County’s planning policies and
standards, and conducts environmental review
under the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA).
The division provides staff support to the Board of
Supervisors and Planning Commission through the processing
of rezonings, subdivisions, use permits, variances
and other land use entitlements.
