2014-15 Property Tax Collections: East County Satellite Office and Extended Business Hours

The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office is pleased to announce the Office will be collecting and processing 2014-15 tax payments at our East County Satellite Office. The Satellite Office will be open Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. beginning March 30, 2015 through April 10, 2015. The Satellite Office is located in Supervisor Linda Parks’ Office, 625 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that we have extended business hours to accommodate our customers’ needs at our Ventura Main Office, Hall of Administration, Ventura. We will be open from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday through Friday, beginning March 30, 2015 through April 10, 2015.

California pension funds are running dry

A decade ago, many of California's public pension plans had plenty of money to pay for workers' retirements.

All that has changed, according to a far-reaching package of data from the state controller. Taxpayers are now on the hook for billions of dollars more to cover the future retirements of public workers, with the bill widely varying depending on where they live.
