The Clerk of the Board is responsible for several areas of governmental service and is  committed to providing excellent customer service and transparency while ensuring the  integrity and accessibility of the public records for the entities that we serve. The Clerk of the Board broadcasts the Board of Supervisors and most other meetings  live via the Internet and provides access to materials (agendas/minutes/documents)  online for the past several years. The Clerk of the Board is the official Custodian of  Record for each of the following entities (except for Claims and Summons).

For Agenda Notifications:

  • Board of Supervisors
    The Clerk of the Board is responsible for publishing the Board of Supervisors agendas and preparing the minutes. The Clerk of the Board maintains all of these records dating back to 1873 when the County of Ventura was formed. Agendas and documents are available online from 2002 to present.

  • Assessment Appeals
    The Clerk of the Board receives and processes Assessment Appeal Applications, as well as, schedules assessment appeals for hearing before the Assessment Appeals Board or Hearing Officer, clerks the hearings, and records and provides all parties with the final decision of the Assessment Appeals Board and Hearing Officer.

  • Air Pollution Control Board
    The Clerk of the Board is responsible for publishing the Air Pollution Control Board agendas and preparing the minutes. Agendas, minutes, and documents are available online from 2003 to present.

  • Ordinances
    The Board of Supervisors adopts Ordinances which provide local rules and regulations specifically for the County of Ventura. The Clerk of the Board is responsible for managing all of the Ordinance documents and maintaining the succession history of the Ordinances. There are over 4,000 Ordinances and information about all of them, as well as many of the documents are available online.

  • Boards/Commissions/Committees
    The Clerk of the Board’s Office is responsible for managing information regarding Boards/Commissions/Committees that are either created by the Board of Supervisors and/or that the Board of Supervisors sits as members.

  • Form700/Conflict of Interest/Biennial Notices
    The Clerk of the Board is the Filing Officer for over 90 public entities where specific individuals designated by those entity’s Conflict of Interest Codes must file their Statement of Economic Interest Form (Form 700).

  • City Selection Committee
    The Clerk of the Board serves as the Secretary to the City Selection Committee which is comprised of all of the Mayors of the 10 incorporated cities within Ventura County who meet to appoint members to certain public entities.

  • Claims and Summons
    The Clerk of the Board accepts service of legal documents on behalf of the County of Ventura, County Special Districts, and County Employees who are being served in their capacity as a County Employee. While the Clerk of the Board accepts service of these documents, the Clerk of the Board is NOT the official Custodian of Record.

  • Fire Protection District Board of Appeals
    The Clerk of the Board prepares the Agendas, Minutes, and serves as the Custodian of Record for the documents for items that have been requested to be heard before the Board of Appeals.

  • Ventura County Consolidated Oversight Board
    The Ventura County Consolidated Oversight Board (VCCOB) is established pursuant to the State of California, Health and Safety Code Section 34179 (j), and as of July 1, 2018 in each county where more than one redevelopment successor agency oversight board was created, there shall be only one Consolidated Oversight Board. The VCCOB is charged with overseeing the activities of the eleven successor agencies throughout the County, as agencies discharge their obligations, dispose of assets, and wind down redevelopment activities.
