Environmental Impact Reports (EIR)If the Lead Agency finds that the project may have a significant impact on the environment and that there are no obvious measures the applicant can take to mitigate potential problems, an EIR will be required. An EIR may also be required if further study is needed to provide information necessary in determining whether or not the project could have a significant impact. |

Grimes Canyon Aggregate MinesRelease of Grimes Canyon mines Revised Final Environmental Impact Reports Description: Public Comments and Responses - June 2009 Final EIRs Wayne J Revised Final EIR Proposed Changes Grimes Rock Revised Final EIR Proposed Changes Best Rock Revised Final EIR Proposed Changes Notice of Completion of Final EIRs Description: In 2006, Draft Environmental Impact Reports (DEIRs) were released for public review and comment for the expansion and time extension of three existing aggregate mines in Grimes Canyon located on SR-23 midway between Fillmore and Moorpark. The Final Environmental Impact Reports (FEIRs) are now available for public review. The projects are as follows: CUP 4171-3 (Best Rock) SCH 20060402 CUP 4874-2 (Grimes Rock) SCH 20060403 GRIMES ROCK VOL I CUP 4571-6 (Wayne J) SCH 20060404 In addition, a full traffic study (with worksheets) evaluating all three projects is available TRAFFIC STUDY The Ventura County Environmental Report Review Committee (ERRC) will consider these FEIRs at a public hearing on July 15, 2009, at 1:30 pm in Room 344 (Multi-Purpose Room) of the Hall of Administration at the above address. The public is invited to present verbal testimony at the hearing or provide written comments to Mr. Ellison at the above address prior to the meeting. The ERRC is a multiple-agency committee of County staff members which is responsible for making a recommendation on the technical and legal adequacy of EIRs to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is the EIR certifying body for these projects. The EIRs will not be forwarded to the Planning Commission until ERRC determines that the EIRs are adequate. The date of the Planning Commission hearing has not been determined, however, a legal notice will be published prior to the meeting.
