Environmental Impact Reports

Environmental Impact Reports (EIR)

If the Lead Agency finds that the project may have a significant impact on the environment and that there are no obvious measures the applicant can take to mitigate potential problems, an EIR will be required. An EIR may also be required if further study is needed to provide information necessary in determining whether or not the project could have a significant impact.

Hard copies of the FEIRs are available for review at the Fillmore Library (502 2nd Street, Fillmore), the Moorpark library (699 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark) and the Ventura County Planning Division (800 S. The Ventura County Environmental Report Review Committee (ERRC) will consider these FEIRs at a public hearing on July 15, 2009,  at 1:30 pm in Room 344 (Multi-Purpose Room) of the Hall of Administration at the above address.  The public is invited to present verbal testimony at the hearing or provide written comments to Mr. Ellison at the above address prior to the meeting.  The ERRC is a multiple-agency committee of County staff members which is responsible for making a recommendation on the technical and legal adequacy of EIRs to the Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission is the EIR certifying body for these projects.  The EIRs will not be forwarded to the Planning Commission until ERRC determines that the EIRs are adequate.

The date of the Planning Commission hearing has not been determined, however, a legal notice will be published prior to the meeting.  Please contact Mr. Ellison if you have any questions about the FEIR, hearing process, or would like to be put on the notification list.
